Every week or every other week we get emails on campus regarding crime reports... for the last 18mths every one of them has at least one story like this... let me be clear.. I have many black, brown or yellow friends who I enjoy hanging out with, so dont go that route you were thinking....!!!
On Thursday, September 12 at approximately 10:20 p.m. a University of Minnesota student was the victim of an armed robbery. The crime occurred four blocks off campus, near the intersection of 11th Avenue SE and 7th Street SE (see map below).
The victim and a friend were walking northbound on 11th Avenue when they encountered a group of six black males. As they walked through the group, the suspects surrounded the victim and one of the suspects pointed a gun. The suspects took the victim's purse that included an iPhone and other valuables, and the group of suspects fled. Neither the victim nor her friend was injured.
The only description available is for the suspect who pointed the gun. He is described as a black male, approximately five feet, ten inches tall, between 20 and 25 years old and wearing dark clothing.
EVERY one of these reports has the same description of the assailant... does that mean we are just racist? or is there an issue within this community regarding the way they raise their youth? Notice he had a gun... I am guessing also he wasnt legally licensed to carry it either.. but lets not take his gun away.. lets just take the law abiding citizens guns away...
This country is failing and fast... the whole moral system is getting turned upside down... this is what happens when the squeekiest wheel gets all the attention... minorities get the majority... typically there is a reason they are in the minority... and its a mentality issue... same as the whole racist crap... A black teen can call me a cracker, and that is a term of endearment (cause I carry a whip and a slave around with me), but if I on the other hand call him a N.......ice fellow, you could guarantee Id be in jail for a few days and Jesse Jackson would be walking down the street in front of a camera...
times are a changing.. and soon I will be carrying my gun EVERYWHERE.. even to work...

Over the weekend, two robberies occurred in close proximity to campus (see map below) and under similar circumstances. The descriptions of the suspects and the manner of the crimes are also very similar to four separate robberies reported in the past month and police believe the crimes may be related. University of Minnesota Police and Minneapolis Police have increased patrols in the area and the Coordinated Response Teams of both Departments are working closely together on these crimes.
On Saturday, September 14 at 10:50 p.m., two individuals – one of whom is a University of Minnesota student – were the victims of an armed robbery. The crime occurred off campus near the intersection of 5th Avenue SE and 7th Street SE.
The victims were approached by two black males who demanded their purses. One suspect threatened the victims with a handgun and the other struck one of the victims when she didn’t immediately comply. The suspects took the purses; neither victim was injured.
The suspect who held the gun is described as a black male between the ages of 19 and 24 years old, approximately six feet tall with a medium build. He had dreadlocks and was wearing a black t-shirt with a bright design on it. The gun was a black semi-automatic pistol. The suspect who struck the victim is described as a black male between the ages of 19 and 24 years old, approximately six feet tall with a medium build. He had short hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. A third suspect is believed to have been in a vehicle but no description is available.
On Sunday, September 15 at approximately 2:00 a.m., three victims were assaulted and robbed near the intersection of 12th Avenue SE and 8th Street SE. None of the victims is affiliated with the University of Minnesota.
The victims were approached by two black males who demanded their valuables. At least one of the victims fought back, and one of the suspects fired a shot in the air during the altercation. A backpack was taken during the robbery and one victim required medical attention.
The suspect who fired the weapon is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 22 years old, approximately five feet, nine inches tall with medium length dreadlocks. The gun was a black handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30 years old, approximately six feet, four inches tall with a light build and short hair.

In the early morning hours on Sunday, October 13, University of Minnesota students were the victims in four separate robberies either on or very close to campus. Police believe that the same suspects are responsible for all four crimes, and University of Minnesota Police are working closely with Minneapolis Police and Metro Transit Police on these cases.
The robberies took place at the intersection of Harvard Street and Washington Avenue; the intersection of Delaware Street and Washington Avenue; on Washington Avenue on a Metro Transit Bus near the Willey Hall bus stop and; at the intersection of 17th Street and University Avenue near the Armory. All of the robberies occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 4:45 a.m.
In each case, two or more victims were assaulted and robbed by a group of five or six black males. No weapons were used in the robberies, but in all four cases victims sustained minor injuries after being punched or kicked by the suspects. Victims lost valuables including wallets, cash and cell phones.
Descriptions of the suspects are limited. All of the men appear to be between the ages of 18 and 25 years old. One of the suspects had a goatee beard and mustache, and wore a black, puffy, North Face vest. Other suspects wore orange or red, and black or dark blue sweatshirts.
As stated earlier, University of Minnesota Police are working closely with Minneapolis Police and Metro Transit Police on these cases. Investigators are in contact with the victims and additional patrols will be in place. Despite the nature of these robberies, walking with someone is still the best and easiest way to ensure your safety late at night and on the weekends. If you see suspicious behavior or believe you are in danger in anyway, don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1.

AND ANOTHER:
On Wednesday, November 20 at approximately 3:40 a.m. a University of Minnesota student was the victim of an armed robbery. The crime occurred off campus, near the intersection of 11th Avenue SE and 8th Street SE (see map below).
The victim was arriving home after work and was on the porch of his residence when he was approached by the suspect who asked to use his cell phone. When the victim refused, the suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim and demanded his valuables. The suspect took the victim's wallet, cell phone and laptop and fled on foot. University of Minnesota Police and Minneapolis Police responded and unsuccessfully searched the area for the suspect. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 21 and 25 years old, approximately five feet ten inches to six feet tall with a medium build. He had a dark complexion, dark hair and a goatee. The suspect was wearing dark pants and a hooded black coat and was carrying a silver handgun.
